if you play it you're a bastard for keeping peoples hopes up and feeding money to a bunch of half-wits who keep shitting all over the game.

let warhammer online die in peace.

I'm here to flap my e-peens.

"Get in touch with your server’s community by visiting the Warhammer Online forums on the Bioware Social Network! – Submitted by Squibblegut of Volkmar"

Totally got my tip on the loadscreen! Booyah!

Also! Not long til expansion - who is excited? I am but I am also dreading it. Scenarios will be a pain without a premade.... Sad times ahead.

Here's my plan so walk with me.... There will now be 4 collections of the armour sets. Two for each type, defensive and offensive - In the case of the tank it will be Sword and Board / Two-hander differences. I have spent a little bit of time dumbing down the ridiculous power curve to make them a little bit better than sovereign in order to make these sets more about your utility and not about being an OP wafflestomping one man army. Without further introduction here is what I have for the Defensive sets. I will put up my ideas for the Offensive set later (after I get back from work, hurhur) Please leave comments on how I can bring these inline with Tyrant and Sov gear and also make them a little bit more powerful than them. I understand all the set bonuses from Sov and Tyrant I haven't account for.

Doomflayer (Defensive / Sword and Board)

PURPOSE: For guarding your party members.

Tou - 264
Wou - 164
Init - 140
Str - 114

7% reduced chance to be crit
5% block
80 hit points every 5 seconds
4 AP per second
3% reduced armor penetration
80 fortitude

Set Bonuses
2 piece - On Being Hit: 10% chance to increase Fortitude by 200 for 10 seconds.
3 piece - "Gentlemen's Challenge": Lock your target's target for 5 seconds - they will be unable to charge targets until timer is up.
4 piece - On Guarded Being Hit: 10% chance to increases guarded's running speed by 20% and slow all enemies around them by 40% for 6 seconds.

---

Doomflayer (Defensive / Two-hander)

PURPOSE: To push back the attack.

Tou - 244
Wou - 143
Init - 148
Str - 157

3% reduced chance to be crit
5% parry
40 hit points every 5 seconds

With the news from Gamesday UK there is a lot of huff and puff about the Skaven race's implementation. It's kinda boring that they will be temporarily playable and not really worth a damn but hey - perhaps we're just being used as test subjects?

What am I getting at? Maybe next year, or a year after, perhaps even never... but MAYBE, just maybe Order and Destruction will both anger the Skaven clan who will then align themselves with an outside influence.. and a third faction will come in to fruition to destroy both Order and Destruction.

Perhaps, there is still a chance at Warhammer Online getting a third faction... but we have just not reached that arc in the story yet.

Wishful thinking, but plausible.

I expected this game would be average, so I went in with no real expectation, but I came out disgraced for Square Enix - I didn't know just how bad they became at making games. I read a Keen and Graev's blog recently with a post about how breath-taking the scenery is and was about to respond inside the thread but decided it was so jaded that I should blog it instead. The game is indeed breath-taking; but in the sense that you'll have your breath-taken away from how ridiculous the pricing scheme is (per character on top of a flat-rate for the month?) and you'll certainly die of asphyxiation before you figure out how to actually play the game and even open up your quest guide.

FFXIV doesn't even attempt to raise the standard/bar since the first online outing. This game is basically for anyone who is a mad fan of the series. There are some cool ideas in this game, but it won't save it from the horrible controls/interface/EVERYTHING that the game is. I had a 30-day free trial. I've already unsubbed.

I've read in interviews with their executive director that he hasn't even played any of the current popular MMOs except his own! The guy has no concept of the competition he is supposed to be making the game to overcome. Extremely disappointing for Square Enix - what were they thinking?

Why did I play then? Friends from work are playing it and wanted me to give it a go. I will not listen to their suggestions ever again.

However, have you read about all the sweet stuff coming in 1.4? New ORvR experience! Skaven! Ridiculously OP Siege weapons (Eff yes!)! I'm genuinely excited for the game. It won't rope in HEAPS of new players, but it will make the game more fun - and if the game is more fun we will have more people want to try it, play it, and then hopefully sub to it. But who cares about new players? I care about me and my experience playing the game. If it's fun then I don't care and will keep paying per month to do so.

Thanks Mythic, you're doing a sweet job. I also made a request for something to be implemented on the thread containing the information and links to sources of information from Gamesday UK where this news came from. The thread can be found HERE but my suggestion was this...

"I propose that you add in something though. Have certain BOs that block off and open up paths depending on who has them. To make them important tactically for the movement of troops (well, players) I would certainly be more inclined to take specific BOs if they also allowed me to block off a route my realms keep, and perhaps open up a faster/sneakier route for my realm to theirs. Or if they gave a tiny zone wide +X% buff to players - that way players are forced to protect the BOs aswell, so when they have them all, they have a buff and are more likely to push the attack.

Just need to find a way to allow the defenders to be able to sudden turn around the buffs temporarily so they can counter attack, and if done successfully push the fight back. Perhaps by using those shrines in the Keeps? and making an extremely large ordinance cost that turns a group of players in to champs for 10 minutes, while they arechamps the realm cancels all the buffs provided by the BOs until they all leave the Keep grounds or die. No champs can be made for the next 30 minutes afterwards.

Sounds complicated as well.. but I dig the champ thing in the city - should be more of it used."

What do you guys think? Sounds good/bad? Wow, it's been a while since I posted here. I better keep this a bit more up-to-date!

I like the idea of 6v6, I like it a lot. But the Eternal Citadel isn't cool. It's slapped together and it's reasoning for use is purely from statistics gathered by MYTHIC.

Simply put; the layout of the map sucks big time.

There is a big open area, cool - but it's next to a giant open pit so it's just all knockback if you're too close. So that's a negative cause everyone just avoids fighting next to it. So basically you've REALLY only got this tiny area to stand in. Melee you can go crazy. Then there are tiny passages - and that's it. Have fun getting eff smashed rdps. Enjoy, customers, you're 6v6 is here! Yet another carefully UN-thought out map where the winners keep winning and the losers keep losing.

Thank you, Mythic... but no thanks. I won't be queuing for this again. What do you guys think? Great map, terrible map? Since we know that MYTHIC just take chunks of map from premade ones where would be a nice even 6v6 fight?

Next post I make I am gonna find somewhere awesome for a 6v6 fight and take pictures, list how and why, etc. I am certain that I will have put more effort in to thinking about it than they did with the Eternal Citadel.

The new AH stinks like a corpse in a burning turd. It is missing some key features from it and off the cuff I can name some important aspects that I don't believe the AH possesses anymore... (from the aid of Add-Ons and the previous system)

- sort by results by... (name, price, level - you get the picture)
- a filter to find specific items of a less than or greater than item level.
- selling multiple items.
- when you drop an item you want to sell in the "sell slot" it will scan for all items of the same name and show you them and their price, etc.
- autoprice cut others.
- item linking a name from the backpack to the search bar.

Previous some of these could be done from within the old system via either just naturally being there, or from a mod made by some smart cookie. Well that box of cookies is now gone and there is nobody left to take on the war against the unfriendly auction house... except for this mod.

AuctionLink

This Add-On allows you to shift click an item in your backpack and it will place that items name in to the search bar - I don't know how MYTHIC managed to think we didn't need that but it just makes finding fkn items in the bloody AH so much easier, especially when we know exactly what we want and it has an unreasonably long name but we use it frequently.

Now if someone can just bring back the ability to sell multiple items at once and put it on a tab and add a few more "Additional Filters" (ones for item levels! Curios, and all that jazz) the AH will be a better place. AuctionArkel and MultiAuction, how I miss thee.

Might have some of those already, I haven't bothered spending too much time on it cause it's such a pain in the ass. Whatever - go get AuctionLink. It effing rules and all it does is save you from having to type a heap of crap.

3:18 Davidinho: I see some Camelot players are here! Big hello to the DAoC crowd!

3:24 [Comment From Moneo] The most important question: What up with the transfer Glamorgan -> Ywain, is it finally coming?

3:25 Davidinho: I can't give a definite yes or no right this moment, but we are definitely looking at Glamorgan closely.

3:26 Davidinho: I haven't forgotten the WAR players. We love you guys! Ready for questions, keep em coming!

3:29 Davidinho: Carrie - The news is all being shared at GamesCom, but the press are hitting up a lot of different places, so they need time to write it up! If you're eager for WAR news, keep an eye out there, we're giving several interviews a day!

3:29 Davidinho: Testing our new name!

3:29 [Comment From Psychoic] What common content will be shared between the differing RvR Packs?

3:31 Davidinho: Carrie - The content that is shared between the different packs is different in theme in some respect (power, progression, personality) but they all share that they tie into the RVR experience in some way. This pack, unlike LoTD is RVR focused, in everything we're doing.

3:32 [Comment From Tom Verhaegen] Will there be a new RVR zone introduced?

3:32 Davidinho: Carrie - Yes!

3:36 [Comment From Khazar] well, what are the future plans for DAOC, are you revealing it here or maybe later in the gamescom?

3:36 Davidinho: Stuart - The future of DAoC is quite bright. Now that we have the EU players under the Mythic umbrella we want to focus more on giving everyone the best possible play experience. We have done a few Live Events and will continue running them into the future. We are also working on a Multi-Lingual server so French, German, and English speaking players can all play together.

3:40 [Comment From Multani] Do you not fear that the up of renow rank up to 100 will not make the game more difficult for the new player against well equiped player ?

3:40 Davidinho: Carrie - Gonna try to answer a couple things about the RR questions. RR 81-100 will be difficult, but we are going to help players who haven't hit RR80 yet to get up there. We're very aware of power gap problems and will be keeping that in mind for new players and alt-a-holics.

3:44 Davidinho: Stuart - Yes, Chris, we ALL know that DAoC is the best MMO *looks at Carrie* but right now we want to focus on the things that make DAoC so awesome. That is why we are doing Live Events and such. It's partly the players that make DAoC so good, and we want to make sure we have a fun experience for you guys (and gals),

3:45 Davidinho: Carrie - @Icpong - Yes new armor past Sov.

3:46 [Comment From Khaldar] Carrie- You said the future of WAR would be announce in the end of summer, will there be an official annoucement soon?

3:48 Davidinho: Carrie - The RVR pack is what I'm referring to as the future of WAR, and we're very excited about it. Of course more details will come as we continue to talk about it, at GamesDay there will be a full presentation on the stuff we're telling the press here, additionally I have a producer's letter coming up... etc.

3:48 [Comment From Ivan Reynoso] Is the new RvR zone going to be accessible without purchasing the RvR Pack?

3:49 Davidinho: Yes, but a lot of the cool stuff that you can get from the RVR zone won't be!

3:49 [Comment From Oberheim] When "moving away from the huge expansion pack system every 2 years." How ofted do you plan to release new packs?

3:49 Davidinho: Carrie - Depends on you guys, which ones you like, etc. We have lots of ideas and plans!

3:50 [Comment From cyric] Is making the Renown Rank process smoother in the lower Ranks going to be done by changing the amount you need to earn for those Ranks ?

3:51 Davidinho: Carrie - More likely going to involve renown-boosting buffs. But the important thing is that it will be easier!

3:52 [Comment From Khannage] Does the RVR packs include updates to the SC system. Made something to help more casual R40 players against those steam rolling pre-mades?

3:53 Davidinho: Carrie - We are focusing on ORVR, but we are doing some investigation around SC matchmaking as we're aware of the community concern.

3:53 [Comment From Heiko S. (Leiunn) - DAoC] (DAoC) Are there any plans to make Warriors more needed in RvR? At the moment Warriors are not needed/wanted in rvr.

3:54 Davidinho: Stuart - We are going through all the careers to make sure that they viable in DAoC and RvR especially. In this last patch (1.105) we focused on the Bainshee, but other classes will be coming down the line.

3:55 [Comment From Eaderbreca] In DAoC, Is there a plan to update the Enchanter RR5 with a more useful ability? The entire community feels it is, currently, lackluster.

3:56 Davidinho: Stuart - In addition to class balance, we will also be looking at the RR5 abilities and making changes where necessary. I can't give details on when, but it is definitely being discussed around the office.

3:57 [Comment From Eltn] (war)Can we expect some upgrades of the current rvr zone with the rvr pack?

3:57 Davidinho: Carrie - Sorry guys! Last question!

3:58 Davidinho: Yes, as a part of the pack, we are doing updates to the ORVR mechanics, which will tie into the Skaven theme very nicely ;)

3:59 Davidinho: Carrie - And we're off to more interviews. I know you're all hungry for info. and we love your excitement about the game. The press and bloggers we're meeting here need to get back to their hotels and home to write stuff up... so the info is coming! Also we will be recapping what we did here in the monthly producer's letters and more info in the coming weeks and upcoming events!

Here is the deal guys, I haven't renewed my sub (yet) and it's not like I'm not going to because I have a gamecard sitting in my wallet. I just don't feel like it.

Mythic, I want to punch you in your collective faces for consistently being jerks. We ask for vanity slots for SOOOOO long, we get them but the enemy can't see it. What is the damn point in that? Seriously? What the FUNK is the purpose in a vanity system if I can't be vain to my enemy? It's mind bogglingly retarded and just makes me want to kick the computer in - but since my computer isn't to blame for your idiocy I will leave it all alone and let it constantly be a stream of gaming for me. The argument against letting the enemy see their custom look? That you won't be able to tell how difficult the enemy is - that. is. fucking. stupid.

Here's the deal, if I were running around in WAR and got jumped by some sneaky Witch Hunter I'm not gonna be giving two shakes a shit about how he looks - I'm gonna either bolt or try and smash him. WAR is a niche community, we know most the people we're attacking - if we don't know our guild will usually say something about who is tough and who is a noob Ironbreaker that doesn't know that his class should be wearing armour (I'm talking about you Gorrem, put on some fkn armour you squishy thing) so we generally treat KNOWING our enemy as part of the fight. We don't need to see what their actual gear is that they are wearing. Fuck sake, is this making any sense? Part of the game is knowing the player we are attacking. So what I am trying to say is you've fucked up Mythic, please fix it.

The friendly collision thing they've decided on, well yeah I can understand that. It does need more testing, it needs to be tested with nerfing AoE. that shit needs to be toned down to get friendly collision off to not destroy you. So yeah, I want FC off, but until they sort out the ridiculousness of aoe under those circumstances it's all well and good. The performance increases would be great indeed and would definitely allow Fortresses back.. somehow.

Really though, I am waiting for the announcement at Gamescom... I will resub regardless... but finding out what the shit is going on with this game will decide if I ever comeback to play properly or I just sub for giggles.

Mythic, do the right thing. Make Black Orcs bigger than Choppas (or at least the same size as an Enraged Choppa) and more importantly, allow us to see the enemy in their vanity gear. If you can't do the vanity gear thing for enemies because you can't figure out how - that wouldn't suprise me, because the argument that you can't tell how tough the enemy is just sounds like a cop-out excuse, just fess up that you don't know how to implement if yet if thats the case, I would rather hear that then a shitty argument against it.

"Get that shit eating Grin off your face and make this shit visible to our Enemies, Sean!" - Squibblegut Loveorder

PS. Too all the retards that think people wearing rags instead of sick RR60+ armour is going to confuse others and make you think they are weak, or "Cheese" the game as they say, I can only say this - "What the fuck?" You already KNOW that people don't wear rags in T4 anyways, so it's quite AMAZINGLY obvious they want you to attack them. I mean, you also already fucking know there is a way to change your appearance - so naturally you won't trust that shit too. Grow some fucking brains you asshats and stop using false logic on the poor Mythic developers who just do what you dumbshits want because they don't want the dumbass part of the community to haul out cause they can't figure out how to click shit. Vanity system isn't very vain if you don't do it to the enemy - it's fucking dumb and pointless.

PPS. Sorry for all the swears and if any personal "attacks" are made - but I do so in honest jest =)

I've recently picked up my T2 Ironbreaker again to have a little fun and I thought to myself how does one defend as a tank? Well, let's consider this scenario. I'm standing in the back lines, chilling with a relatively attractive high elf. Now, normally I wouldn't be so interested in one of the full-growns but she has deep, beautiful eyes and a wonderfully large set of ca- hang on! Anyways, I am standing by this stunning woman who is a healer. Some big green mutant comes running up to her repeatedly swinging 2 tiny forks in circles in front of his body as he looks away and hopes to hit her as he flails aimlessly.

In order to defend her, I must kill the enemy instantly. Wrong! You should have already been attacking their healer, attempting to take their healer off the task of healing their ranks and instead make them GTFO and let their team die. The fact you don't put out much damage isn't reallllly a problem as you need to just put enough heat on them to get them to stop helping their team and instead worry about themselves. As a tank you're not going for killing blows (all the time), you are trying to organize the field like a chess game. You must force certain situations. I found myself smashing up healers til they were running with low health and then quickly turning to a DPS that was already being targetted and ripping apart their armour - rinse, repeat.

As a tank without a dedicated healer I have to make sure I stick by my healer - even if you think they are an idiot, show them that you've got their back and they will take care of you. Today, I did just that and had some ripper fights in T2 scenarios on the home of "bads"; "Badlands".

I'd like to think I was a Saint, taking care of healers who were neglected by other tanks - of whom forgot to Guard them, or even Oathfriend anyone, lol. I've done a good thing today, and soon there will be a book and a movie, bigger than the Twilight series, in fond recognition of my good deeds.

See you on the battlefield!

I hate you.

You look crap, bland, and squashed together. You lack anything that made our previous forums fantastic. You're a big waste of space and time. I am disgusted at how shit you are because you're just a cheap imitation of the thing I once loved.

Here's what BM (Bioware Mythic) have done. They "merged" our forums together. So now we can go post with the ME alien-f**king fanatics on the same forum space. Woop-de-doo. What did it cost us though? A shit lot. The idea that this was even a "merge" is laughable. We had our forums taken away from us, and then a subforum made on the Bioware forums - k? Here's the breakdown.

Kudos feature is gone: Even GOA had that - what the f**k is wrong with you MYTHIC? Don't step backwards - forwards, FORWARDS!
What server are you from? RR? NAME!?! GUILD!!??!!!?: Hi stranger, I don't know what server you are from so thanks for coming and posting in my servers forums, I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT CHARACTER YOU PLAY AS IS CALLED! Nice account name though, I'll try and remember linking your Squig Herder to the account name you post as that is not connected to your Warhammer toon. Cool, now we can expect more eff'ing trolls sharing their boundless wisdom such "I think these changes are great" when in regards to a class they've never played.
I can see the stars!: No more waffles for anybody though. The joy of the waffles are gone, only to be replaced with ****'s - boo.
You all look the same to me: Cool. Less than warhammer 30 avatars - what's that, 1 per class? How many warhammer players are there that will use this forum. Lot's of choice for us. Effing bad.
So, do you come here often?: Everything is so condensed that I can't tell what text I'm actually supposed to read. It's not just a thorn in my side - it's a thorn in my eyes.

Mythic, what are you guys fkn DOING!? WHAT. THE. FUXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!

Mythic fails us once again.

I swear I feel like I've been under the weather now for literally years. But enough about my (lack of) well-being, today MYTHIC updated the wartest.myp so I went snooping through it again because for some reason you can't start up the WARTest.exe - wd MYTHIC :P haha. A lot of art updates, new mount icons, and armour/weapon inclusions so we could be getting a few new armours incoming in 1.3.6 which would be nice to dress ourselves up in. Also found a few .txt files that seem to suggest changes in atmosphere and sky colours to the Empire areas... so this could be another precursor to an upcoming live expansion. I think I also found the Appearance code and from what I can understand it will be a part of your Character Window so you should be able to do it whenever you want. Neat! Since I'm not a savvy coder or anything I couldn't see any obvious code pointing to requirements to do so... Ah well! =3

Found this line too within some Auction window code that I think is being updated to look nicer.

"local MAX_TRADESKILL_RANK = 999         -- currently max is 200, but leaving room for expnasion"

Yeah, they spelt expansion wrong. Noobs!! NOOBS NOOOOOOOOOOBS!!!

Can you believe it's been like two weeks and I am still dead sick!? Arghhhh!

I think it's important that I link you to HERE and that you go there and Kudos it. This is a suggestion by Grimnir requesting that trial accounts be limited to certain sections of the forums - and with good reason.

Trolls. Doomsayers. Negative-Nancies. Call them what you will, but they make their trial accounts in droves and just whinge, and whinge, about how bad warhammer is, and how it is dying, when it's visibly not spiralling in to a void of nothingness. Yet, they can't help but play? These are the F2P clowns who come along and demand MYTHIC drop their subscription model and go F2P with one of those pointless micro-transaction stores.

Switching from a paid subscription model to a F2P would destroy this game, and if it didn't destroy it a lot of people would leave. F2P is not the way for Warhammer and it will never be. Regardless, support this thread. I'm sick of having a decent discussion in a thread that only ends up getting derailed by a trial account user who just wants to bitch and moan cause MYTHIC didn't make the game exactly to their pleasure.

Also, I'd been looking around the internets at animations and stuff and came across grickle.. and I love him. The humour is just so... weird! Anyways, check out this short clip. It's a day in the life of the Sasquatch.

Currently, I am still getting over a ridiculous flu and cold I have acquired from a week or so back so thus why I've been relatively quiet as of late. I celebrated my birthday in style though with a few mates over the weekend. Here is the damage in AUD$....

It hurt. I'm not a big guy so this was a monster effort. Kudos to my friend for eating 9.8 cheeseburgers and then vomiting from doing so.

I was browsing through the interface.myp for a few images I wanted to edit for my guilds logo and came across a HEAP of stuff MYTHIC haven't deleted or just didn't use. Some strange looking maps and a few related to Karak-Eight Peaks. Was interesting. Anyways I found a HEAP of maps and personally I was confused by some because I simply don't remember them or had never seen them, so I was wondering if someone could help me out because none of my guild are on.

So where in the Old World is this?

 Click for LARGER image.

On top of that, when does this screen ever load?

Click for LARGER image.

Anybody know? Thanks in advance. Oh, btw! Werit's blog had some unconfirmed rumours about new vanity pets. I ran across a few of the buff icons for them in the wartest.myp such as the empire hound, goblin, bear and monkey icons. When I can be bothered sifting through the wartest.myp icons again I'll chuck them up here.

If you play WAR you probably have a love & hate relationship with the forums. I know I do, you can’t do anything there without a troll showing up or having a thread derailed by someone complaining about the game. I have conceived an idea to keep players interacting with each other outside the forums and I thought I’d share it with you. Hold on to your seats, you may want to slap me... but think social networking.

Yes, my idea involves making “profile” pages so to speak for characters. Before you get high and mighty, or even excited over the idea, let me explain a bit! A mod would need to be made, much like the curse profiler, and when you have activated the mod and are playing as your character you would need to do command like this “/waaaghspace”. A window would pop-up saying you are about to start an account for the character you are currently playing – it will ask for a password and then confirm the creation of the account. It would gather your information and upload it to a website, let’s imagine it’s called “waaaghspace.com” where you would then be assigned a page and a subfolder with the name of your server. For example, I would be assigned the webpage...

http://www.waaaghspace.com/v/squibblegut

Cool right? This would not be an overly customizable page, it would in fact be an illustration of the character type you play with a short message board on it. This is where it becomes a bit nifty. From in-game you could message people in game with a command... Let’s say I run in to that hacker Antiwinkl – I could leave a message on his board like this...

@Antiwinkl you’re a hacker and a dirty xrealmer

This would show up on his board and he would receive a notification in his game client that his message board contains a new message.

Will this breakaway from lore? I don’t feel it will. In Warhammer they all speak English, or a broken form of it, so it’s not like they can’t understand each other cross-realm-wise. Here’s how I envisioned it so far... It’s a nice idea I think, but not something I think anybody will be bothered doing. To be honest, I can't see why this wouldn't branch in to Warcraft. I imagine people would begin using this over twitter or something if so, haha. Could call it "Toonspace: A place for toons" - LOL. If you rip off this idea from me I will murder you (if you wanna use it speak to me though, I'm keen! haha)

Been looking through a lot of the older RvR gear merchants for decent looking gear to mix and match dressings with my current RvR gear. So basically I am trying to decide on what to wear in 1.3.6 and the choices are pretty interesting but this one so far looks pretty good I think.

In true WoW-style I think the ol' "the bigger the shoulders the better" thing will be a largely important part of the visual e-peen display when 1.3.6 hits. I might need to change my last name to "Hood" and steal from da Humies and giv to da Gits!
I'll probably have to get started on running a few PvE dungeons for gear to acquire more of the stuff. I'm interested in the Stoneminer's gear... saw a Black Orc running around with some pretty neat looking Shoulderpads... Oh! Maybe I can get one of those Battlebrew packs... that'd look good...

*logs back in and checks prices in the AH*

Wonder if these things gonna sky-rocket in price when 1.3.6 arrives...
